Fix #1: Use Optimize Media Compatibility Option
You need to check whether your media file has compatibility issue or not. For that navigate to File-> Info. If the media file has a compatibility issue, then you will get Optimize Media Compatibility message on the screen. To Optimize Media Compatibility do as following-
- Select Optimize Media Compatibility and confirm the action
- It will display playback issues
- Next, click View Links and then select Break Links for each link to embed video files in your PowerPoint
Fix #2: Get Required Codecs
Video or audio doesn’t play on PowerPoint if you don’t have required codes on your Windows system. Therefore, get required codecs and install them on your Windows system.
Fix #3: Path Issues
PowerPoint fails to play audio or video exists of it due to path issues. It happens when you transfer your PowerPoint to other location, or when source path of the video is modified. Hence, to avoid this, create a new folder and copy all the video/audio file, including PowerPoint file in this folder. Make sure that both media files, as well as PowerPoint file, is located in the same folder.
Fix #4: Video/Audi File Corruption
In case, you have inserted corrupted audio or video file inside PowerPoint file, then it won’t play them. In order to fix this issue, insert a playable and healthy file. If you don’t have a healthy file, then fix the corrupted video using Video File Repair software.
